Job Description

On behalf of our client, a rapidly growing healthcare organization, Cultivated Workforce is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Purchase Accounting Manager to join their team. This role requires a strong understanding of purchase accounting, including elements like joint ventures and tax implications for acquisitions. Treasury experience is considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete purchase accounting process, keeping track of all accounting-related steps till prosecution of acquisitions.
  • Directly manage a team of 3-4 accountants, encouraging an efficient, collaborative working atmosphere.
  • Collaborate effectively with business partners across the organization to ensure prompt processing of all purchasing activities and month-end closure tasks.
  • Handle audit support requests specifically related to newly acquired sites.
  • Draft purchase accounting entries like opening balance sheets for every new acquisition.
  • Manage the consolidation of the acquired entities’ financial information after closing.
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders, discussing purchasing agreements, tax ramifications, financials, etc.
  • Review monthly accruals, including payroll, supplies, and other central expenses, for each acquired entity.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Purchase Accounting Manager.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in team management.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external CPAs, clientele, and internal C-suite managers.
  • Prior exposure/experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting and business management software, experience with NetSuite is highly beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of purchase accounting/GAAP principles, accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • Strong cultural competency to build and lead a team, encouraging development and advancement.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
